Justine Blazer has a hit song about Just Singing called "Just Sing"

Image
Justine Blazer has a hit song about Just Singing called "Just Sing"  Justine is an iconic songwriter who is the poster-woman for what a musician in 2020 should look like. She writes amazing songs, she plays and teaches what she does, she collaborates with musicians, producers, artists, and songwriters alike, she can sing her heart out AND she is just a rad human on top of all that.  Oh, and she has swag.   That dress coupled with that smile says it all. I spoke with her for the first time about a week ago, and we chatted about music, life and what it takes to be a musician these days.  I love her music and cannot wait to collaborate with her going forward.  Stay in touch with Justine's exciting Instagram.   She also has a LOT of adoring fans and great engagement on her Facebook page.  I decided to read up on her website  just a little about her career, and I was dazzled by her list of accolades.  This is the LATEST in the Justine Blazer world:   "In the winter of 20

Natasha Meister inspires us to play guitar and sing

Image
Natasha Meister inspires us to play guitar and sing! Natasha has a hopeful message in her new song "The Other Side". "Everything's gonna be alright Don't lose hope in the dark, oh we have to try Though we're standing here in uncertain times We'll be stronger, be together on the other side?" Her voice is strong and uplifting: I really love this song and what it stands for.  While scrolling through her YouTube channel , I found some RAD guitar teaching videos also! My favorite is the one where she teaches basic guitar in Five steps! Natasha's Instagram has a lot of fun stuff too! Her Facebook presence is fun to be a part of as well.   I noticed that a lot of her fans are die-hard!  Which is a great thing to see when looking at the way an artist is able to connect.  Press inquires: bsquaredmanagement@gmail.com

Sarah Harralson and her unreleased "Frosty"

Image
Sarah Harralson and her unreleased "Frosty"  YAY! We have a pre-save link for you!  The song comes out on November 27th, and as long as you click the pre-save link above, you will get sent the song as soon as it drops.  That means that YOU will be among the FIRST to hear this song. New holiday songs are something that I yearn for each year. Don't get me wrong, we here at HMP LOVE the classic holiday music, but Sarah Harralson has managed to capture a timeless holiday spirit in her new jam "Frosty".  I am lucky enough to know Sarah's publicist, so that means that I am currently listening to this song ;) This song is warm and comforting in a time that we all need healing and unity.  The artwork fits the song perfectly.   One of the lyrics mentions her lips turning blue, and hell freezing over, so I love that way they capture that blue and frosty feeling on her lips and above the eyes. That makeup sure is beautiful! If you want to see more pictures from the ab

Gwendolyn on meeting the devil in new song "Absinthe"

Image
Gwendolyn on meeting the devil in new song "Absinthe" "Vandalized and rising into the tornado"  This is my favorite lyric from Gwendolyn's brand new track "Absinthe". The song is haunting and the video features Gwendolyn singing by the beach in a corset. The images in this video conjure up a juxtaposition of old and new.  What images does it conjure up for YOU dear reader?  (Comment below) After watching repeatedly, I have really come to appreciate the wardrobe changes in this video.  Her voice is soaringly beautiful and we here at HMP recommend that you follow her Instagram . Because she is fun. and talented.    Her website has lots of great information about her as well.  Congratulations to Gwendolyn for making the Guitar Hero Playlist !   "Coming from a cinematic background, GWENDOLYN knows how to create a piece of music that exudes passion and resonates within your very core" - Neon Music Blog, LONDON Her music truly is cinematic.   For

Christopher Watson endorses the new Jeep Cherokee!

Image
Christopher Watson endorses new Jeep Cherokee.  Christopher's voice will melt your heart.  I think that is why he was the WINNER of "Listen To Your Heart" (musical offshoot of the Bachelor Series)  Never heard of that? Thats ok, check out his winning performance right here:  That sure was a breathtaking performance.  So earlier I mentioned that Chris had endorsed the NEW Jeep Cherokee.   This is a HUGE deal for an artist, because it means that the industry is moving towards more collaborations of the sort. It also means that Christopher is a VERY talented artist. And the kind of man that all the ladies want to marry, and the dudes want to jam with.  Now I want to drive a Jeep!  Pretty cool right? (comment below) Even more impressive is that Christopher released his DEBUT album this year!  That means that he is destined to be a superstar.   Check out his rad website too! He has had so much amazing success already in his career, and we here at HMP sure are excited to see w

Savannah Madison stuns fans with soaring voice

Image
Savannah Madison stuns fans with soaring angelic voice "I let my guard down, and then you pulled the rug, I was gettin' kinda used to bein' someone you loved" These are the heartfelt lyrics of the Lewis Capaldi song she chose to cover below.  Savannah has an absolutely STUNNING voice.  It stopped the singer inside of me and caused me to really study the way she forms her mouth to create such a beautiful timbre and such glistening high notes! She also radiates positivity and light while she performs.  Let's jump in:  So do you agree with me that she radiates light?  Please comment below.  She also has a fun video on her youtube channel where her and her friend talk about their first kiss stories.  Totally fun stuff to be a part of! Her Instagram has a lot of stunning photos of her aswell! For Press Inquiries:   bsquaredmgmt@gmail. com

Dina Renee finds her dude's underwear

Image
Dina Renee finds her dudes underwear in "What I'm Not Gonna Do" . Dina has a sexy and soulful voice.  It is full and reminds me of the color amber (comforting/cozy to me). In her music video for the single "What I'm Not Gonna Do", she is seen taking care of her man. She makes him a nice cake, she does his laundry, and is overall very sweet to him.   Unfortunately, she finds a pair of underwear in the laundry so as the viewer we assume that he has been cheating with another woman. We soon find out that the other woman is HIS inner-woman.  The panties were his, and he was secretly dancing around in them and dreaming about being a woman.  This is a playful video that demonstrates her ability as an artist to sing about a serious subject, while maintaining a healthy sense of humor.  Did you like this video?  Comment below, I will reply : )  Be sure and check out her Instagram. Codi Dillon brings a fresh take on pop music

Image
I think Codi Dillon is a special talent.  He is 100% himself.  I honestly have never seen an artist quite like him.   His style is futuristic and direct.  His music could be perfect in the club, but it also is the perfect driving music. LA is a driving city, and I can see cruisin' to this.  Whatever your expectations are of him, this video will shatter all of them.  "I've never seen California, but I like the way it looks on ya" -Codi Dillon  His voice is passionate and beautiful.  Be sure and check out ALL of his music on his website.  At the young age of 22, I think that Codi is just getting started, and I look forward to working with him one day when he finally does get to LA.  Hey Codi, lets jam! Mia Ayana and undressing her soul to pieces

Image
"Undress my soul to pieces"- Mia Ayana Mia has a voice that is undeniably pleasurable to listen to.  So far I have listened to "Problems"  four times in a row:  Each time I listen I am hearing new pleasant ear candy evolving.   Her music is truly addicting.  Every detail has been carefully and thoughtfully measured out in hypnotic doses of beats mixed with her soothing voice.  I yearn to listen over and over, to get closer to what is so enticing in the soundscape.  My favorite part in the song is when she starts a bit of spoken word.  "As the stars touch the sky..it all comes too soon and it all goes too fast" "you wanna lay me down and stretch me out...you create my fantasy, you provide the help I need" Her website provides this insight about her life: "The songstress started her journey in a small rural town in Mississippi - singing in church, on the school bus, and anywhere else she could. In 2015, after the death of her grandmother an

Kendra Chantelle the #yogAbroad singer

Image
Kendra Chantelle the #yogAbroad singer Kendra has been in the music industry for over ten years, and her most recent release "I Still Believe" is already making waves in the scene, just a few short days after its release on 10/30/20.  She co-wrote this song with Brad Sample.  In her interview with Buzz Music , she talks about how this song was born out of the idea that we can persevere even if we have had a "tough season" as she puts it.  Here, why don't you take this time to take listen.  You will NOT be disappointed.  The idea that if she was having so much trouble moving forward in any OTHER line of work besides music, it would be time to move on and choose a new career, but music is the most important thing in this universe (me speaking now) so we are reminded that "I Still Believe".  Kendra grew up in a musical household and started pursuing music at the age of 13.  She would ride to Nashville to take voice lessons. Now SHE is the vocal coach.  I

Natalie Jean hits the Nashville Sign Billboard!

Image
Natalie Jean graces THE  Nashville Sign Billboard! Here at HMP we pride ourselves on having an ear to the ground when it comes to hot new music.  Especially music that has a message. Natalie Jean has an extensive list of awards on her website . After reading through fifty of the awards that she has received for her music, I decided I should just listen for myself.  What I heard next hit me directly in the chest, and brought a tear to my eye.  "We kneel because of the brutality, we kneel because we're dying" Her voice is full of robust heartiness. She exercises great control of her voice as she effortlessly soars above the band.  The next music video of hers that I enjoyed is "The Forgotten" and it is about the veterans that have served the world.  This music will make you feel something, and ideally inspire us to look within and change for the better.  Her Instagram is a great place to be a part of her message. Why not give her some love on there right now?  Th

Rapper/Artist I.Am.Tru.Starr is a TRUE STAR

Image
"Somethings Gotta Change, This world is a maze..." "Shorty lookin' like a skater and I'm Tony Hawk..." Just two slices of lyrics from the talented and swaggy I.Am.Tru.Starr.  His newest album/single "Viva" was JUST released on October 29th and can be streamed on Spotify.   But the most recent Youtube music video is for a song called "Tempo" which is extremely groovy. Have a listen: Now that you have heard I.Am.Tru.Starr, you can hear how his flow is poised and calm, but as sharp as a scalpel.  He juxtaposes "catch me tippin' through your city like a ballerina," and rhymes it with "grass is greener". If that isn't genius, I don't know what is. Be sure an catch this up and coming artist on his IG .  He posts inspiring flows and off-the-cuff style poetry.  I.Am.Tru.Starr is an artist that HMP will be watching closely this year as he is a TRUE STAR. William Marsh leads the modern musician in his Musical Being Community

Image
Hollywood Music Pulse was fortunate enough to catch up with the legendary guitarist/educator William Marsh who is dedicated to serving music and its devotees in a unique way. William teaches us about the power of language, and its influence on the mindset of being musical.  Rather than have me explain, catch him in an exclusive interview with Dawn Montefusco:  So now that you understand the way William thinks, lets get a little deeper into why he does what he does.  1. What is the "Musical Being Community"? The Musical Being Community is a facebook group where musicians can seek support, offer resources, and share what they are working on.  My vision is to have it be a space where we can foster conversations of what it is like to be a human being that participates in music. I’m interested particularly in the conversations around how music shows up in our lives, distinct from the theoretical or technical conversations around music.  So rather than, “what scales/chords/songs s

The Catastrophic Cataclysmic suggestions of Featherpocket

Image
What is Featherpocket? Even more important, who is Featherpocket? Featherpocket is a comforting mixture of Americana styles, steeped in country music, with an inclination towards "punk rock" ideals.  What do I mean by punk rock ideals? I mean watch the new video "Catastrophic Cataclysmic" and then I wont have to explain:  My favorite moment is 1:32, where Jason Cline (lead singer) dances with his cat, Pinkie.  The video takes us through a host of characters and settings that are likely familiar to anyone familiar with the year of 2020.  The guitar playing is clever and demonstrates Cline's ability to weave in between rhythmic country back-up and some fine melodic "chicken pickin'".  The playing at the end of the song captures the chaos of the year.  So how did this amazing band name come to be?   Read below: “Lead singer and acoustic guitarist Jason Cline had an elaborate epiphany when he was living in Portland, Oregon. As he walked from to St. Joh

Crystal McGrath inspires us to attack self-doubt in her new podcast "Crushing Chaos"

Image
Here in Hollywood, it is sometimes difficult for a creative person to quickly figure out how to live a healthy life.   Why? Billboards, magazines, netflix, fast-paced consumer-culture that rips away one trend while simultaneously caressing the next big money-making human obsession.  The reason I say this is because we NEED more artists like Crystal McGrath here in Hollywood.  People who inspire us to be better and to look in the mirror.  "There is that tiny voice inside of all of us that, tiny bit of self-doubt that creeps into our thoughts. It’s hard not to let those thoughts take over our confidence especially when you have people in your life that confirm your worst fears. Why am I not pretty enough or smart, brave, or just plainly enough? This awareness of that little girl inside of us can help us change that mindset by recognizing those fears and facing them. Today on the Crushing Chaos Podcast Ola Walczyk talks about recognizing that little girl and proving to her that you a

SUNSET Bluegrass in LA

Image
The LA outfit known as Water Tower continue to impress the State of California with their dedication to music in general.  They have been performing on the streets of LA for many years now which gives them their distinct "edge".  Here they are with a sunset set that was supposed to be a part of their official festival set at the virtual Huck Finn Jubilee, but didn't make it due to the sunset being too dark to actually see them. Korey Simeone kicks off the first tune ("Pig In A Pen") with a classic fiddle line to get the bluegrass vibrations flowing.   He happens to shred, which is exciting as a listener and viewer because you can feel the band reacting to the exciting music that seems to endlessly pour out of him.   Perhaps the most exciting moment of Korey's fiddling is at 2:05 while he harkens back to an almost Clark Kessinger ( https://cutt.ly/tgPZ2qS ) bowing pattern.  Just as the song starts to speed up to the point of almost falling off the rails, the
